Make your own Christmas cards

Go very berry and make lovely cards for all your favourite people. - by Better Homes and Gardens

Make your own Christmas cards

Stitch the tree using embroidery thread, then add merry bling with red sequin berries. Use a label maker with red label tape to create festive messages and you’re done – berry Christmas!

Gather your supplies

Pencil; blank single-fold card: brown or light brown; stranded embroidery cotton: red and brown; needle; red sequins; scissors; label maker with red label tape

Here’s how

Step 1 Using diagram as a guide, lightly sketch the tree onto the front of the card, extending the trunk to the base of the card.

Step 2 Use 2 strands of brown embroidery cotton and backstitch (elongating the stitch) over the pencil lines, knotting thread at the back. Where indicated, use red embroidery cotton to sew red sequins in place, using a French knot. Trim threads on back of card.

Step 3 Using a label maker, make a red label with your desired greeting. Attach to front of card.
