In news that you may or may not want to know, a new study has revealed which room in your house has the most bugs.
Published in the journal Scientific, researchers found critters prefer hanging out in your living room.
A team of entomologists from North Carolina State University and the California Academy of Sciences searched 50 houses in the North Carolina area and picked up more 10,000 bugs.
The kitchen and the living room were the most popular hangouts for the bugs, which included silverfish, book lice, fruit flies, and ladybugs.
“Carpeted, ground-floor living rooms with lots of access to the outdoors were home to more types of bugs than other rooms,” reports The Verge.
Keeping a spotless, pet-free house won’t help keep your bug count either.
"When we considered lifestyle characteristics of residents within particular homes, we found that the diversity and the composition of the core arthropod community did not significantly vary between houses based on the presence of cats or dogs, the number of houseplants, pesticide usage, or relative levels of clutter and dust accumulation."
