Let’s face it doing the dishes is something we’d rather leave for someone else.
But the longer you leave this chore, the harder it will be.
To help minimise time spent with your hands in the sink, here are five tips to help reduce your washing up time.
The more utensils you cook with, the more you have to clean up. There’s no need to cook up a storm every night. Instead, stick to recipes that can be prepared ed in one pot or pan.
Clean as you cook
Clean smaller items as you go. It doesn’t reduce the amount of time spent cleaning, but your future self will thank you for the smaller pile of dishes at the end of the day.
Own fewer dishes
How much of the crockery and cooking items sitting in your cupboards do you actually need? Owning fewer items means drastically reducing your washing up time.
One glass a day
Everyone using a new glass every time they have a drink quickly add up. Set a new rule, one glass per family member - per day.
Soak while you eat
Leave any pots with stubborn stains to soak while you eat. Once you have finished your meal, scrubbing will be a breeze.
