Now here’s a cooking method we Aussies know all about – barbecuing. And it turns out the Korean cuisine is quite accustomed to this practice of cooking, too. Start up your barbie (or frying pan) and give it a Korean kick with this slightly sweet and very tender marinated beef dish.
Ingredients
Method
Cut beef into very thin strips and put in a large bowl.
Add marinade and set aside.
Diagonally slice the thickest half of the shallots into 2cm-thick slices. Set aside.
Thinly slice remaining green part of shallots. Set aside.
Add thickly sliced shallots to beef mixture and toss to combine. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside at room temperature for 30 minutes to marinate.
Heat oil on a barbecue flat plate or in a large non-stick frying pan over a high heat. Cook marinated beef, in batches, in
a single layer for 1 minute each side or until browned.
Put on a serving plate and top with reserved shallots. Serve with lettuce leaves and steamed rice on the side.
