"It's not a combined toilet and bathroom, but the lack of fan is just wrong," one person wrote.
Another commenter added: "Against code in many places. Not sure about Australia these days."
But as Business Insider points out in an unrelated article, when a toilet is flushed germs can fly almost 5 metres.
"It is a good idea to lower the seat, especially if the bathroom is used by multiple people," said Philip Tierno, a microbiologist at New York University.
