Measure and cut 4 sleepers to 2m lengths. On 1 end of 1 sleeper, measure and cut a 30° angle. On opposite end, measure and cut a 60° angle. Ensure both angles are cut on same side of sleeper so long side is still 2m in length. Repeat for remaining 3 sleepers.
Using a 400mm sleeper offcut, measure in 50mm from edge, then mark and cut lengthways to make a 50 x 50 x 400mm post.
To make vertical supports, lay 2 angled sleepers on ground with 60° angles pointing in same direction. Position 50 x 50 x 400mm post between sleepers, ensuring top is flush with top edge of sleepers. Fix with bugle-head screws.
Stand support assembly upright. Screw remaining 2 angled sleepers to post in centre, with 60° angles pointing upwards.
To divide planter box into 6 equally spaced levels, measure and mark 285mm up from base of 1 support. Continue measuring and marking 285mm up length of support. Repeat for remaining supports.
To work out length of horizontal supports, measure width between lowest markings on all 4 sides, then divide by 4 to get average length.
Measure and cut 4 sleepers to this size, with a 30° angle at each end, ensuring long side is still at full length.
Repeat Steps 6 and 7 to create horizontal supports for each level.
Move planter box into final position as it will be too heavy to move once you attach horizontal supports. Position and fix each horizontal suppor t on 3 faces, leaving 1 face open.
Fix bottom 2 horizontal supports onto remaining face, fill planter box with soil, then compact. Position and fix next horizontal suppor t, fill planter box with soil, then compact. Continue this way to complete your new pyramid planter box.
