Prosecco flavoured pink cheese could go down in history as one of the greatest combinations ever invented – depending on who you ask.
The prosecco-flavoured Wensleydale wheel from The Great British Cheese Company is making headlines and while most are loving the idea, not everyone agrees.
According to the company’s description on its website, the product is a classic English Wensleydale that’s infused with sweet raspberry and sharp prosecco flavours. Surrounded by a hot pink rind, the cheese has a supple and crumbly texture along with a milky freshness.
Many people have commented on social media, agreeing the pairing is divine.
“Two things I absolutely adore,” one person wrote on Twitter.
But some have come to the defence of cheese, saying it should be left alone.
“No. Just no. Cheese should be cheese flavoured! Prosecco tastes just fine from a glass,” wrote one Tweeter.
“MAKE IT STOP,” added another.
Sadly, there’s no mention on their website about shipping to Australia.
