You don’t make friends with salad – especially if it’s soggy.
Twitter user Jill, from Bristol, shared a hack on Twitter to stop salad leaves in plastic bags from going soggy - and it’s genius!
Sharing a picture of a bag of wild rocket, Jill wrote: “Don’t waste bagged salad! My tip to stop salad going soggy is put a strip of kitchen roll (aka paper towel) inside the bag to soak up moisture.”
If your salad is too far gone to add a piece of paper towel to the bag, Hayden Groves recommends submerging the leaves to a bowl of iced water.
"This technique will perk up soft herbs such as basil, sage and parsley, too," Hayden told the Daily Mail. "Just shake off the excess water and use immediately, or wrap the leaves in kitchen roll and store in the fridge, where they should remain fresh for a couple more days."
