These perfect fridges take organisation to the next level

Fridge goals! - by Rebecca Lowrey Boyd
  • 20 Feb 2018

You can find all manner of obsessively organised things on Instagram – and people can’t get enough of them.

There are colour-coded bookshelves, beautifully edited wardrobes and perfectly pretty pantries. You can even have an aspirational cupboard under the sink.

And now it’s all about an immaculately curated fridge.

When you wake up Sunday morning and sigh with happiness that this is still your fridge situation ☺️🙏 💕@mdprovodores awesome farm fresh fruit and vege gift box fills my fridge. 🤗 🍇 .. and those grapes, crunchy, juicy and sweet 👌👌👌. The best and most variety fruit and vege you'll get is when it's direct from the Markets. I love the colourful Dutch carrots, yellow zucchini and the interesting shapes and colours of the tomatoes, as I don't see those varieties that often in normal local greengrocers or supermarkets. #jenskitchen #myfridge #seetastedo

According to a recent post on Instagram, the contents of her fridge makes Jenny “sigh with happiness”.

For blogger Kristen Hong, also known as @hellonutritarian by her 400,400+ Instagram followers, fridge organization is an art form and a kind of therapy.

Had to share this rainbow fridge again with you! I've done quite a few fridge posts for my #52fridges project but this one may be my all-time favorite 🙌✊️🌈. I've gotten a lot of requests for a list of everything I have in my glass jars and containers so I've made you a little fridge "tour" that you can see in my stories highlights! I've included links for some of the recipes (just swipe up) and I've noted when recipes are on the blog or "in development" (that means stay tuned for seriously yummy things to come)! THINGS GET REAL HERE 👉👉👉 I started sharing my fridge in earnest a year and a half ago as a way to hold myself accountable. I had dabbled in weekly prepping and realized that it helped me so much during those hectic weeks shuttling the kids around and cooking for my non-nutritarian family. I decided to make weekly batch prepping my default HABIT so I could finally "maintain" my nutritarian lifestyle. So, what started as something completely utilitarian, to hold me accountable on my journey, has turned into another way I get to express my creativity and approach peace. I've said this many times: I'm not a type-A, everything-is-clean-orderly-and-organized-in-all-areas-of-my-life type of person. I'm just a person who tries. A person who's recovering from a lifetime of disordered eating and food addiction and finding a sort of "therapy" in some good-old-fashioned fridge art 😜 In all sincerity, thinking of color, texture, taste and inspiration and incorporating all those things into my daily life has helped me tremendously this year! And the fact that these pics resonate with so many of you and help inspire you to take action only makes it all the more better 🙌✊️💚✅ I've had a lot of ugly, dark and tortured interactions with food in my past and I'm so happy to be turning that pain into something beautiful to share with you all. 🙏💕💕 xo, Kristen #nutritarian #fridge #fridgegoals #plantpowered #wfpbno #f52organized

“I started sharing my fridge in earnest a year and a half ago as a way to hold myself accountable,” she explained in a post on Instagram.

But what started as "utilitarian" meal prep has turned into a way for her to express "creativity".

Fridge 32/52: GREEN LOVE 💚💚💚 There is one simple truth I can tell you right now-only good things will come to you from eating more green ✊️✊️✊️ After the amazing response from the rainbow fridge a few weeks ago, I had a burst of inspiration to make a monochromatic food-prepped fridge and there's no better place to start than with my favorite color, and a color that holds so much meaning for me and my food addiction recovery. Learning how to eat more greens, learning why they heal my body and mind, learning how they make me feel-energetic, hopeful, mentally calm-has made all the difference in my growth over these last 5 years. ✅✅✅ Being nutritarian means eating high-nutrient-and green veggies are on the very top of the list (followed closely by beans, onions, mushrooms, berries and raw seeds). So, as a nutritarian I aim to eat two large salads a day as my "main course" followed by cooked food like low-sodium, homemade vegan soups, oil-free stir fries, or bean pasta dishes and a large, double-serving of a lightly-cooked green veggie. When you start flooding your body with nutrients you FEEL the difference. I'm not going to lie, it takes time and practice to overcome your disordered eating and food cravings at first, but once you've amassed a good 10 to 14 days of pure high-nutrient eating you start to feel truly alive 🙌🙌🙌 After the 5-week mark your toxic hunger cravings start to fade, you start enjoying the natural taste of food as your tastebuds heal from the overstimulation of processed foods and loads of salt 💚💚💚 It's been the most liberating kind of healing I've known and that's why I'm on a mission to bring the nutritarian lifestyle into the mainstream! 👉👉👉 You can start right now with my top weekly prep recommendation: an in-fridge salad bar! Get all my tips in my link in bio! I want to say a special thank you to @veganwhat for featuring my fridge yesterday, if you found your way here from that post I'm so excited you're here! I'll be doing another "fridge tour" for this green fridge in my stories within the next week! xo, Kristen #nutritarian #eattherainbow #fridge #fridgegoals #plantpowered #wfpbno #f52organized #FeedYourResolution #52fridges

Fridge 30/52 - When I decided to get serious about purging the junk in my fridge I started with the condiments. I realized we had so many seldom-used ingredients that just took up space and led to overall clutter. Now I make most of my own condiments (except for my kids' ketchup, my hubby's hot sauce, and dijon mustard and white miso paste that I frequently use in recipes). Moving towards more homemade condiments has really helped with our clutter and actually being able to see everything in the fridge! My top recommendations for DIY condiments are: (1) no-oil, low-salt salad dressings-you just can't find them pre-made at any stores, (2) oil-free hummus-in this fridge I made a batch of beet hummus, and (3) some super-quick, 2-ingredient veggie pickles-red onion, red cabbage, or radish. Head to the link in bio to find all of these recipes on my site. My point here is this: You don't have to do it all at once-pick one part of your fridge that you're going to focus on making better and work from there! 🙌🙌🙌 xo, Kristen #nutritarian #fridge #fridgegoals #plantpowered #wfpbno
