Ingredients
1½ cups rolled oats
3 cups water
1 tsp fine salt
1½ cups milk
1 cup dates, chopped
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp ground allspice
1½ cup natural almonds, toasted, chopped
100g double cream
½ cup honey
Method

Put oats, water and fine salt in a medium saucepan over a low heat and bring to a simmer. Cook for 15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Stir in milk and dates and cook for 5 minutes or until dates have softened.

Stir in lemon juice, allspice and 1 cup of almonds. Serve topped with cream, honey and remaining almonds.
