New Zealand has taken gift giving to the next level, organising a nationwide Secret Santa.
Participants are paired up through Twitter and have to choose the perfect gift based on their match’s online personality.
Over 3000 people have signed up, including New Zealand's Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern.
“So you may have noticed I don't tweet especially often (I just lurk) but as a ridiculous lover of Christmas, I couldn't miss the chance to join the @nzsecretsanta movement,” Ardern wrote on Twitter.
The giant gift-giving operation started in 2010 after a man who calls himself a giant pumpkin grower. However, NZPost has since taken over the sorting process.
Although registration is now closed, you can follow NZSecretSanta and stay up-to-date for next year.
