Man quits job, turns driveway into Harry Potter's Diagon Alley
A Seattle man is now the envy of everyone after he quit his job and turned his driveway into Diagon Alley, a famous location from the Harry Potter series.
In the weeks leading up to Halloween, Jon Chambers spent his days building the scene - and the results are incredible.
So what inspired Jon to take on such a task? His two daughters - of course.
“I’ve always wanted to do something massive for Halloween or Christmas,” Chambers told GeekWire. “I was born the day before Halloween, and October is like my power month. So I decided to quit my job and focus on this crazy thing.”
The six store fronts - Eeylops Owl Emporium, Ollivanders wand shop, Quality Quidditch Supplies, Magical Menagerie, Flourish and Blotts bookshop and Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions - that appear in Jon's driveway are made mainly from materials donated from the neighbours.
“It’s obviously gotten way bigger than I planned, ’cause the community came together [and] donated supplies,” he told KOMO News. “People are here all the time helping out.”
