Before you head out to buy that next can of pet food for your fur baby, hold on!
There's been a major recall of a leading brand of pet food by American manufacturer Weruva, after it was revealed its tuna-based product has reportedly been making pet cats incredibly sick.
The Best Feline Friend (BFF) brand cat food has been recalled from Petbarn and City Farmers, the stockists in Australia, with customers informed they are entitled to a full refund. The range has been pulled from shelves across the country by the manufacturer.
The company is searching for the source of the issue, citing that the product, “may have been produced outside of intended formulation guidelines", reported the Sydney Morning Herald.
“While this matter affects no other products or markets, we are taking additional steps to ensure quality and confidence across our entire global food assortment. These efforts include aggressive testing of ingredients and finished product by independent laboratories in addition to our routine testing and quality assurance measures," said David Forman, president of Weruva.
Anyone affected can call Weruva on 1800 338 359 or contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org between 9am and 7pm.
