6 of the most dangerous areas in Sydney

According to the NSW police force.

In Australia, we are fortunate that our crime rates are relatively low, in comparison to most other countries, for example, the UK and the US. Australia is ranked as the 13th safest nation in the world and Sydney is ranked the 5th safest city globally. Although low, crime is not exempt in Australia so you need to be careful, the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) Crime Tool is a great free resource which shows the crime rate of each local government area.

When it comes to determining the most dangerous suburb in any area there are a couple of factors that come into play:

  • The current crime rate
  • Police presence
  • Demographic

Often the poorest suburbs in the roughest areas have the lowest property value and are the ones to avoid if you’re looking at buying property as their resale value isn’t high.

According to NSW crime statistics by suburb here are the most dangerous suburbs in Sydney.
