Despite supermarkets removing plastic bags from their check-outs and placing recycling bins in their stores, Woolworths and Coles have both come under fire due for their plastic-fantastic Ooshies and Little Shop collectables, which aren’t environmentally friendly.
However, it appears that Woolworths has heard the pleas from the public to produce an eco-friendly collectible for kids, and have now confirmed that Woolworths will be launching Discovery Garden this month.
Woolworths have finally confirmed the finer details of its new collectables range ‘Discovery Garden’. With the aim of helping Australian families grow their own fresh vegetables, herbs and flowers, Woolworths Discovery Garden collectables will be available in-store and online from September 11.
Customers can collect a new Discovery Garden collectable for every $30 spent, or spend $15 on fresh fruit and veggies within a $30 shop in-store and you’ll also get a bonus seedling kit.
Woolworths have confirmed there will be 24 plant varieties to collect, including thyme, basil, kale, spinach, coriander, carrots violas, pansies and much more! There is also a free interactive growth chart and learning book available in-store and online to support the growing journey, plus a dedicated Woolworths Discovery Garden website to help along the way, including seedling growth guides and recipe ideas to transform your harvest into a delicious meal. The Woolworths Discovery Garden collector tray is available for purchase at $4.
The launch of Woolworths Discovery Garden comes as new research, conducted by Woolworths, revealed that more Aussies want to grow their own herbs and vegies, while also recognising the importance of kids having a better understanding about fresh food.
