The annual Global Liveability Index for 2018 has just been released by The Economist Intelligence Unit and the results are great for any Australians living in Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne, the only three Australians cities to make the global top 10, taking out 10th, 5th and 2nd spots respectively.
The report looks at criteria such as stability, healthcare, culture, environment, infrastructure and education, then gives each city a score out of 100. Melbourne has taken out the number one spot for the past seven years, but has been dethroned in 2018 by Vienna in Austria.
While Australia may have missed out on first place this time, three of its cities were among the best scoring, with Adelaide (96.6%) and Sydney (97.4%) coming behind Melbourne in 10th and fifth place.
