The accommodation giant is offering to send one person and their three friends to Italy for three months during the European summer to eat and drink to your heart’s content – all expenses paid.
Are we dreaming? Is this a joke?!
No, you read correctly! Airbnb are doing the promotion to advertise the small, beautiful town of Grottole in Southern Italy. But with only 2,186 residents it’s hardly a go-to destination for tourists – and Airbnb want to change that!
As part of the deal, you’ll learn to live and cook like a true Italian from June to August, taking in everything that Grottole has to offer and immersing yourself in the local culture and cuisine – YUM.
If you score the dream opportunity, you’ll also volunteer for a local non-profit called Wonder Grottole and help revitalize the town’s historical centre.
Then, a month into the trip the four of you will become co-hosts on Airbnb – welcoming guests to their room in a traditional home in the village or in the local community centre and then show them around town.
But it still leaves plenty of time to explore the town – eating, drinking and eating some more, with all the pizza, pasta and local wines you can muster. Sign me up!
