Getting a splinter is one of childhood’s biggest lows. Being tasked with removing a splinter doesn’t rate too highly in parenthood, either.
So it’s no surprise that the Internet erupted when a surprising new method to painlessly remove splinters was shared on Facebook.
Popular Facebook page Recipes from Heaven caused a stir when it posted the genius hack on its page.
“Pour a small amount of white glue on the area. Let it dry completely and peel it off. The splinter will come out with the glue,” it reads.
The genius hack prompted other parents to share their own splinter removal methods.
“I used to place a small piece of bacon covered with a band aid on a splinter overnight. It would come out easily the next morning,” advised one person.
“Duct tape works too and no waiting for glue to dry,” adds another parent.
Another added: “We always use nail clippers. Just grab onto it and pull it out.”
