Your cleaning toolbox
Put all of your cleaning tools in a neat box that you can easily find come cleaning time.
Handy duster
Invest in a pretty duster which will not look out of place hanging on a wall or standing in a vase. Whip it out every few days to dust photos and nick nacks to avoid a build up of dust.

Don’t waste time unplugging and replugging your vacuum cleaner. Instead, use an extension cord to get more of your floors clean in one go.
Delegate
Every person in your house should have a cleaning job that is his or her responsibility. If everyone follows their checklist your place will be sparkling clean in no time!
Don’t use a broom
Sweeping takes time, time that you don’t have! Why sweep when you can vacuum instead? Invest in a slim, cordless vacuum to make everyday tasks a cinch.
Remove clutter
Grab a laundry basket and move around the room picking up things which don’t belong there. Removing clutter makes a room look instantly better.
Speed dusting
With one microfibre cloth in each hand, speed dust surfaces which are a eye-level. If you do this regularly dust won’t build up so the job will be easier.
Lint roller
Next time you brush down your clothes, look around to see if anywhere else could use a spruce up. Think lampshades, chairs, curtains and more.
Quick stair clean
Stash some wipes at the top and bottom of the staircase- maybe on a bookshelf or in a cupboard. On the way down the stairs wipe the hand rail, and on the way up wipe the steps at eye level.
Microfibre mitt
Pop a microfibre mitt or cloth in your desk drawer so you can speed clean your computer equipment when it’s looking dusty. And while you’re at it, keep one near the TV so you remember to clean it too.
Quick bathroom clean
Keep a washcloth in the vanity for a quick wipe of the sink, bath and mirror.
Car care
Don’t forget the car! Put some wipes in the glove box for when things get dirty. Put mats on the floor so you can easily remove them for cleaning.
Rubber gloves
Cleaning up after our furry friends can be simple. Put on your washing up gloves and run your hands over the upholstery to pick up fur.
Clean like clockwork
When cleaning a room be methodical. Work in a clockwise circle so you don’t lose track and skip or re-clean places.
Toothpaste trick
Use toothpaste and an old toothbrush to polish up a chrome bathroom tap.
Skip the small stuff
Every nook and cranny doesn’t need to be cleaned every week. Prioritise the main areas of your house – bathroom, kitchen, living rooms – and skip the small things like your collection of ornaments and souvenirs.
Squeegee
Do yourself a favour by getting a squeegee. Use it in the bathroom to wipe down the shower door and to clean exterior windows.
Floor spot clean
Keep a cloth on hand to clean up spills asap so when you mop the floor it will be a much easier job.
