Kmart never falls short of creating useful yet niche products. But microwaveable socks – is that something we really need this winter?

Microwaveable slippers are the latest offering from Kmart that are causing a stir, flying off shelves and being added to carts. With a budget-friendly price tag of $20, Kmart lovers say they’re a steal.
However, some shoppers aren’t a fan of the nifty idea, questioning exactly how sanitary they can be if they’re worn outside and then placed in an appliance where food is being reheated.
According to the Kmart website, the popular slippers can do more than keep your tootsies warm. On the packaging of the fluffy socks, it’s listed that they “may relieve aches and pains when warm” and also offer “temporary relief from sprains and bruises”.
The box also reads that the $20 find can be used warm or cold. So in the winter, they can be cooled in the freezer first and taken out on hot summer nights.
The fluffy pink socks have since sold out, but a similar pair or dupe can be found on Amazon, here.
