Simple storage solution for worn clothes that don’t need washing yet

If you’re anything like me, staying on top of the laundry can feel like a never-ending chore. I often find myself asking: how can three people produce so much washing? Even if each of us had a separate washing basket, actually doing all the laundry would take ages.

Something had to change. So after carefully considering where these dirty clothes came from, we discovered they weren’t actually that dirty. They were thrown on the floor after one wear, then washed with the rest of the clothes lying around the house.

In fact, most of the clothes making it to the laundry could be worn again before washing.

So what do you do with the clothes that are worn once and could be worn again before washing? You get an in-between or separate washing basket.

As written in Apartment Therapy: “Your in-between washing basket should live wherever you take off your clothes, whether that be your bathroom, bedroom, or closet.”

So if there’s a spot in your home where clothes tend to pile up, that’s where this separate washing basket should go.

While you may not need to get a new washing basket to try this out, here are our top picks if you want one.
