Taking to TikTok to share the genius hack, KC Davis (aka@domesticblisters) revealed you can use a bottle opener to loosen the lid, which means no more wanting to throw tight-lidded jars across the room.
Captioning her TikTok video, KC writes: “I was 36 years old when I realised.” And she wasn’t the only one.
Here’s how she does it.
Step-by-step instructions: opening a stubborn jar lid
- Grab the jar you’re having trouble opening to the lid.
- Get your bottle opener and use it to lift up a corner of the lid to let some air out.
- Now try and twist the lid.
- Voila! You are done. Your stubborn jar lid is open.
Using the bottle opener to lift open the lid releases some of the pressurised air from the jar, making it very easy to open.
