Ever wondered how your glasses get so cloudy? The problem is in your dishwasher. Over time, the cleaning action of the dishwasher etches tiny scratches in glassware. Limescale build up, which gives glass that cloudy appearance.
The solution?
Pop your glasses in the dishwasher and pour some citric acid (available from Woolworths) into the detergent dispenser. Run your dishwasher through a normal wash.
If the limescale remains, soak your glasses overnight in hot water with 2 cups of vinegar. Let sit to dry.
Unfortunately some glassware will be permanently damaged.
Caring for your glassware
Avoid the dishwasher and wash by hand in warm water and liquid detergent. Rinse in clean water, then dry with a clean tea towel.
If you must use a dishwasher, make your glasses sparkle by adding neat white vinegar to the rinse aid compartment.
