Although not quite as big of an event as Christmas, Easter is definitely celebrated in Australia. What’s not to like about the holiday? It involves public holidays, copious amounts of chocolate and adorable bunny motifs embellishing everything from tea-towels to pyjamas.
However, one Sydney institution has taken Easter celebrations to the next level.
The Grounds of Alexandria is a beautiful location on any ordinary day, but from April 12 to 26 the bustling food precinct has been transformed into a rainbow-lit Easter heaven, complete with giant eggs, flowers and Instagrammable moments.
Called Rainbow Dessert Lane, the grounds will present laneways of sweet treats such as doughnuts, gelato, churros and beignets beneath glowing rainbow-hued arches.
The dessert event kicks off at 6pm every Friday and Saturday night from April 12 to 27 and finishes at 9pm.
Be sure not to miss the cracking of the giant Easter egg at 3pm on Sunday April 21st.
