This personalised mug is sure to bring a beamer of a smile to anyone’s face, especially when they learn you made it.
For you to note
- The designs or these projects can be found at design.cricut.com. If you are new to using Cricut cutting machines, first download the app onto your desktop, tablet or mobile and sign up.
- This project uses Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets to create a personalised monogrammed mug. For best results, use a Cricut Mug Blank with the Infusible Ink compatibility badge. Mugs are microwave and dishwasher-safe.
Gather your supplies
- Cricut Joy and Mug Press
- Cricut Cutting Mat, 4 x 12 inches
- Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet in Black
- Sharp blade
- Weeding tool
- Lint roller
- Cricut Mug Blank (340ml/425ml)
- Cricut EasyPress Mat (or towel)
Step 1
To create your design, open Cricut Design Space on your computer, tablet or mobile phone and choose your preferred design, upload your own or, for these designs, enter BHG Father’s Day 2022 – Mug Designs in the search bar. Remember to mirror your preferred design.
Step 2
Load your mat with infusible ink transfer sheet – pattern side up – then, using a sharp blade, follow the prompts in Cricut Design Space to cut the pattern.
Step 3
Use weeding tool or your fingers to carefully remove excess transfer sheet cutouts from design, while keeping main design area on the backing sheet.
Step 4
Use lint roller to remove any dust on the surface of your mug blank. Wrap infusible ink transfer sheet around the mug, lining up the top and bottom with that of the mug and with the ends meeting at the handle.
NOTE: The ‘semi circle’ guides at each end butt up to create a circle.
Step 5
Switch on the Mug Press. When the light turns green, place the mug with the infusible ink transfer sheet design into the Mug Press, handle facing outwards, then push the lever right down.
Step 6
When Mug Press beeps once and all 4 lights have turned solid white, lift the lever and carefully remove mug by the handle. Place on the EasyPress mat (or towel). Let cool.
Step 7
Remove the backing sheet to reveal your extra special personalised mug for your dad!
