Knead turquoise and white polymer clays together to achieve your desired shade of blue.

Form the clay evenly around a glass tube vase in a ball, making sure tube is centred in clay and opening is uncovered.

The vase remains within the clay. If needed, poke a pencil through clay to clear opening at top. Slice shallow pieces of clay off ball using a sharp knife in straight strokes to create a geometric surface. Bake clay according to clay manufacturer’s instructions then let cool.

Work your clay

Art and craft stores offer a range of modelling clays, including polymer and air-dry types. Polymer clays, such as Sculpey and Fimo, are workable until baked in the oven and come in many colours and effects. Always check the pack for its recommended usage. Air-dry clay gives a natural look to projects. It tends to shrink slightly while drying.
