Instructions
Step. 1
Using Cricut Design Space, create your desired design, including words and shapes (like arches and lines) on your canvas.
Since the design will be placed on the back of the clear acrylic, select mirror in the print section of Design Space so that the words will be facing correctly. Load the vinyl into Cricut Joy and follow the steps to start cutting.
Step. 2
Remove the freshly cut vinyl from the printer and, using the weeding tool, weed the design to remove any negative space to leave behind only the design you want to include. Cut out the words, lines and shapes from the larger design.
Step. 3
Cover the design with transfer tape and use the scraping tool to strongly bond the materials and remove any air bubbles.
Step. 4
Place the clear acrylic face side up and use a whiteboard marker to mark the layout design.
Flip the acrylic over. Using transfer tape, press the word design onto the back of the acrylic, following the marked lines. Use the lines on the transfer tape to check the design is straight and aligned, and use the scrapper tool to remove any air bubbles under the vinyl.
Once complete, carefully remove the transfer tape to leave the design on the acrylic planner.
Step. 5
Once the words have been placed, add the lines and arches using the outline on the board to check they are straight and even.
Step. 6
Drill a hole into the top two corners of the acrylic board and attach standoff screws. And you’re done.
