The latest case of Aldi dominating the field of fantastic wine and food creations at financially friendly prices comes from Western Australia. While wine enthusiasts often have to part with a few pineapples to get themselves a sweet drop, Aldi have proved, yet again, that you don’t always have to pay a hefty price for a good product.
An Aldi chardonnay that cost a grand total of $14.99 has won White Wine of the 2018 Western Australia Wine Show thanks to their Blackstone Paddock Limited Release Margaret River Chardonnay, 2017. It took out two awards at the 2018 Wine Show of Western Australia- Portavin International Wine Services, White Wine of Show and The Seguin Moreau for Best Chardonnay of Show, but that’s not all.
At the Riverina Wine Show 2018 Aldi won Best Popular Premium Red with the Tudor Central Victorian Shiraz 2016, $12.99, and the Best Popular Premium White for the A.C.Byrne Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2018, $7.99.
Aldi’s recent wins at Australian wine shows are just the most recent awards in a slew of affordable Aldi products that have received accolades.
In 2017, the chain supermarket’s $8 bottle of rosé was ranked one of the best in the world, The Exquisite Collection Côtes De Provence 2016 winning silver at The International Wine Challenge, ahead of bottles retailing at over $30.
In the same year. Aldi’s $16 bottle of Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin won gold at the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC).
It turns out even budget shoppers can afford the best wine money can buy!
