Simple to make and so sweet, this miniature tree, complete with seed bead snow, can be made in an afternoon. For the layers of leaves ‘so unchanging’, gather an assortment of colours in either acrylic or wool felt.
Gather your supplies:
Assorted felt (including green); small beads; beading needle; Silamide thread; glass tea light holder; tacky glue; compass; pencil; card; scissors; doll needle; hot-glue gun and glue sticks; tape
Use a compass and pencil to draw circles on card, 9cm, 8cm, 7cm, 6cm, 5cm, 4cm, 3cm and 2cm in diameter. Cut out circles and trace onto felt, cutting multiple sizes from each colour and 4 circles of each size (making 32 circles in total). Stack circles until your tree is 10cm tall. Adjust shape by adding more circles of any size, as needed.
Use doll needle to thread layers together through centre. Stitch a 1cm circle of felt to tree top. Use beading needle to stitch small beads to edges of layers.
Measure height and circumference of tea light holder. Cut a rectangle of green felt to fit. Stitch small beads on 1 long side.
Cut a rectangle for door and glue on. Stitch on 1 bead for door handle.
Glue to holder with tacky glue. Hold in position with tape while drying. Hot-glue tree to base.
