Let’s face it, no one really likes doing the dishes.
And not everyone has the luxury of owning a dishwasher. Like most things, having a particular system will make your life easier.
Streamline the tedious task of washing up with these tips.
How to wash your dishes properly
First things first, you need to clear the space next to sink and arrange your dishes into categories: cutlery, plates, cups, glasses, pots and pans, baking dishes and mixing bowls and spatulas.
Fill the sink about 1/3 with bath temperature water. The hotter the water is, the better. But not too hot you can’t put your hands in.
Now work your way through the pile. You’re going to use the same sink of water for everything, so start with the cleanest items first. This will probably be your glasses, dishes, pots etc. Once scrubbed give them a quick rinse and place on the drying rack.
Speedy cutlery cleaning trick
When it comes to cleaning your cutlery, try this speedy trick.
Put a pot in the middle of the sink to section your cutlery. Place all of your dirty knives, forks and spoon in the sink above your pot. Give them all a scrub and place them below the pot with the handles all facing the same way. Once they have all been scrubbed scoop them up and give them a rinse all at once.
