1. Set the scene
"With bathing, ambience is everything and can seriously make all the difference in your bathing experience. Make sure you tell your family or housemates that you need at least half an hour without any interruptions! Start by burning some incense or lighting a scented candle to get the room smelling great, then take care of your lighting by either dimming the lights in your bathroom, or turning them off completely. This helps to create the mood and contributes to a more relaxing ambience. Finally, try to reduce the outside noise by playing some peaceful music that will allow you to fully relax."
2. Soak and relax
"A good bath requires more than just deliciously warm water. Try pouring in some energising bath crystals, such as Dr Teal’s Epsom Salt Soaking Solution or a floral bath oil, such as Lux Aestiva Babushka Oil or L’Occitane Pivoine Flora Bi-Phase Bath Oil, that will not only moisturise your skin but leave you smelling lovely. The crystals can improve cleaning experience, enhance the enjoyment of bathing, plus mimic the properties of a natural mineral bath. Next, take care of your skin with a beautiful body scrub, such as Lux Aestiva’s Wild at Heart Scrub or Natio’s Wellness Body Scrub, where you can massage a small handful in circular motions over skin. Pay special attention to dry, uneven areas of skin and be extra gentle on sensitive areas, such as décolletage and face."
3. Post bath pampering
"Once you’re out of the bath, take advantage of the heat on your skin and work in a nourishing body oil with your fingers. Not only will this encourage blood flow and lymphatic drainage, but will also leave skin feeling silky smooth. You’ll leave the bath feeling calm and relaxed so try to keep in this headspace for the rest of the day – it’s not always easy but a relaxing bath will give you a good head start!"
