How to remove mould

Get rid of it for good. - by Eunice Oh
  • 19 Jul 2022

There's nothing worse than finding black spots of mould around your home. Whether it's in the bathroom, your wardrobe or worse on your clothes and shoes, there's a way to remove it and prevent it from happening again.

WATCH: Cleaning your deck, its not that hard!

Have you been dehumidifying your home? Continuous rainfall and increased humidity are a breeding ground for mould.

Mould expert and mycologist Dr Heike Neumeister-Kemp stated that where and how fast mould grows depends on the “types of nutrients [and] what the surface or fabric is made out of.”

Also adding that “mould really likes it on chocolate mousse, wicker baskets, soft furnishings, sugary things and anything that has oil in them.”

If you're experiencing a mould problem, you're not alone. Many Aussies are finding wardrobes full of mouldy clothes and mould even in the grout of their bathrooms. The presence of mould can lead to severe health effects, so it's important to clean, remove and prevent it.
