There’s nothing worse than going to make dinner only to find the jar lid is stuck.
Before you abandon the vessel, try these handy tips.
Break the seal
If the seal hasn’t popped, you can use a spoon or a bottle opener to help it along. Simply use your chosen tool to lift the lid away from the jar until you hear a popping sound.
Use a rubber band to open a stubborn jar lid
Once the seal is broken, place an elastic band around the mid section of the jar and the lid. Give the bottom of the jar a good tap and try opening, making sure your hands are around the bands. The rubber provides the needed extra grip to twist the lid. If you don't have elastic bands, rubber gloves will work too.
