Pair of old jeans
6 pockets from old jeans
74 x 128cm linen in blue
Matching sewing thread
Sewing machine and general sewing supplies
Two 80cm lengths 22mm-dia. timber dowel or 2 smooth straight branches of similar dimensions
From a jeans leg seam with topstitching, cut a 2 x 60cm strip. Cut extra strips with topstitching. Set aside for hanging.
Referring to picture (above), arrange pockets and strip on linen. Pin in place. Topstitch pockets in place, leaving tops open. Topstitch across strip at 5cm intervals.
Press and stitch a 1cm double hem on each long side and each short side of linen. To form casings for hanging rods, fold 10cm of each short side back and topstitch 5mm from edge of hem.
To hang, push dowel into casings. Use reserved jeans strips to hang.
