Gather your supplies:
• Garden cuttings
• Watercolour paper, size to suit
• Picture frames with mount board, size to suit
You’ll also need:
Masking tape; hammer; picture hangers (to suit your wall type)
Arrange a selection of cuttings in centre of watercolour paper, keeping in mind the size of opening in mount board of your chosen frames.
Tear and place lengths of masking tape over top of cuttings to hold them in position on paper. Cover all parts of each cutting.
On a suitable work surface and using hammer, gently bash cuttings so moisture from cuttings stains watercolour paper.
Carefully remove tape and cuttings to reveal a subtle, abstract marking on watercolour paper. Discard tape and cuttings. Let dry.
Place your artwork in frame, centred to opening in mount board. You can tape artwork in position on back of mount board if necessary. Affix suitable picture hanger to wall.
Hang finished artwork and repeat Steps 1-6 to create as many artworks as you desire.
