How many balls can you keep up in the air? Two, three, or more? No matter what your skill level, these homemade juggling balls will help you get plenty of practice. All you need is rice (straight from the pantry) and some brightly coloured balloons. Do a quick search online for a juggling tutorial and you’ll be entertaining the whole family in no time!
To improve elasticity, inflate balloons and let air escape. Carefully stretch 1 balloon neck over funnel stem; hold tight.
Pour ¾ cup of the rice into funnel mouth, gently pulling and twisting balloon to help rice flow in, until balloon is completely full.
Remove balloon neck from funnel. Using sharp scissors, cut neck halfway and discard. Fold over remaining (attached) half to sit flat.
Cut neck off a second balloon and stretch over rice-filled ball, sealing previously folded neck. Tip: You can experiment with the look of each ball by adding extra layers of balloons with holes cut out of them – they’ll create eye-catching patterns and provide extra durability.
Repeat Steps 1-4 to make a set of 3 juggling balls.
