Trying to implement a new habit can be tricky.
But new research has shed some light on how you can not only add something to your routine – but make it stick.
The study published in the Journal of Health Psychology found you are more likely to be successful at creating a new habit if you do it first thing in morning.
Researchers asked 48 participants to try and create a stretching routine over 90 days.
The results found participants who added stretching to their morning routine were more successful. Researchers think high levels of cortisol in the morning may have played a role in helping the morning participants stick to their new routine.
However, more research on the topic is still needed.
