Enlarge template (above) to size using a photocopier, then cut out. Using marker pen, trace template onto pine. Clamp wood to your work surface, follow marked outline and, using jigsaw, cut out each shape.
Sand cat smooth. Paint in Oakmoss. To finish facial details, refer to picture (below left) and template (left) and glue flock dog nose and goggle eyes in place. Let glue set. Then, paint whiskers, lips and whites of eyes in diluted Warm White, using liner brush.
Using contact adhesive, glue metal bookend to back of cat, centring it and lining it up with base of cat. Using hot glue, attach a ribbon bow at the cat’s neck.
