As the sun goes down and the cold takes a hold, we don't want to go outside as much - which is totally fine! Especially when you consider there are lovely, warming, cosy movie nights to be had at home instead.
Though the art of the movie night at home has become somewhat finessed over time since the dawn of the tele, so here are the 5 easy ways in your place to really maximise that snuggly night in with that quality flick.
1. Get a blanket
A movie night on the couch with a snuggle is nothing without a quality throw rug or blanket to do it with! Now, whether you buy one or make one is entirely up to you, but know there are heaps of options out there (some of our favourites are right here) in all sorts of colours and fabrics that will do the trick and it really comes down to the kind of fabric and style you like.
For example, if you plan on making your own, some of this season's knit kits come in a 'boho chic' or 'neutral mist' colourway in either a round or rectangular wool or acrylic option. So many choices, but all of them are simply FAB! Here they all are...
2. Get some wine
Now wine is a funny one, because what you like mightn't be the 'cup of tea wine' of your guests, but by having a few options handy, at least you'll cover a few more bases. If you're a hardcore wine drinker, most people stick to reds in winter and whites in the warmer, summer months, but of course there are no rules.
BHG actually has a super sensational range of special on some seasonal wines from Australia's First Families of wine, you can peruse right here. And with savings!
3. Gather the necessary tools
Food to accompany the good wine and winning choice of movie is a must, so once you've whipped-up perhaps the stunning gluten-free prosciutto, mozzarella and artichoke pizza, or a more decadent tiramisu pizza for dessert, you'll need something to deal with the serving and making sure there's no mess to interrupt your flick.
We came across this genius invention called the 'Scizza' and it's definitely any movie night must! See more and get your own here...
4. Think about some cosy lighting
You don't want to have the full ceiling lights on and be inundated with light, but you also don't want to be a completely dark room as it's bad for your peepers, so think about some candles. Not only do they smell great and really make an impact on the space, but add a super relaxed air to the room that will do you nothing but good.
We've gathered a whole collection of candelabras and candle holders we love that you can have a look at on BHG Shop!
Or you could always go completely left of centre and try something different like one of these super mesmerising sun jars. They're a jar with balls of light trapped inside. Flick them on and enjoy the ceaseless glow! See more about them just here.
5. Pull together some nice, comfy pillows
Absolute musts, they almost go without saying. Cuddle them, lie on them (and eventually fall asleep) or use them to scatter around and amp-up the cosiness, these are a movie night must! Have a peep at some of our winners right here.
