You’ll also need
Drop sheet; flat paintbrush; plastic lid to use as a palette; wide paintbrushes
Working on plastic lid, mix each colour with a little flow medium.
Step 1 Working on a flat surface covered with drop sheet, use flat paintbrush and Sap Green on plastic lid to paint large scattered leaf shapes on canvas. Use wide paintbrushes with Aqua, Storm Blue, Moss Green, Green Oxide and Olive Green to create a mottled background, blending colours with a second brush as you work.
Step 2 Using flat brush with Olive Green and Storm Blue, add details to leaf shapes.
Step 3 Use wide brush with Dioxazine Purple for flower background, creating 3 round petal shapes.
Step 4 While paint is wet, use wide brush with Naples Yellow Hue to highlight petals, leaving centre exposed. Add further highlights with Aqua, leaving centre exposed.
Step 5 Use flat brush with Titanium White, Dioxazine Purple and Olive Green to add highlights, using large curved strokes
Step 6 Blend with wide brush. Repeat flower technique to add more flowers, working with same colours in same order.
Step 7 For the large bloom, begin with a large U-shape. Use darker centre colours to fill in top of shape. Blend colours with wide brush. Paint edges of canvas with flat brush and Olive Green. Use wide soft brush to paint surface of artwork with 3 coats of gloss varnish, leaving to dry between coats.
