STEP 1 Prime and paint vertical timber wall battens then screw them to your wall, spaced to match studs or fixed to plugs in masonry.
STEP 2 Use a spade bit attached to your drill to bore shallow holes in level, centred positions on battens.
STEP 3 Cut, glue and tap dowel pegs into holes. Once dry, place cut and painted shelves on top.

You can make battens any length you wish, spaced to suit your needs. Size holes to fit dowel pegs tightly, and measure and cut pegs to suit your shelf depth. Paint a clear coat on pegs for added durability, if you wish.
