Ikea has issued a recall for their Calypso ceiling lamp after it has received reports of “glass shades breaking and falling”.
The fear is that people will get injured from the glass lamp breaking and falling to the floor or from contact with broken glass after it breaks.
The lamp features frosted glass and retails for $49.
The Swedish retail giant has urged all customers who have purchased the lamp after 1st August 2016 to carefully remove the glass shade and look for the manufacturing date stamp on the lamp.
Calypso lamps with date stamps from 1625 to 1744 are being recalled.
Customers who have one of the affected lamps should contact Ikea to organise a replacement or refund. No receipt or proof of purchase is required.
