How to make hanging egg nests
Gather your supplies
- Papier mâché cracked eggs with hangers
- Acrylic paint in white
- Liquitex heavy body acrylics in various pastel shades
- Paintbrushes
- Paint palette
- Treated natural shred tissue paper
- Fuzzy chicks
- Mini chocolate eggs
- Arrangement of branches in a vase
For you to note
- Heavy body acrylic has a higher viscosity than liquid paint, giving you a nice thick texture and meaning you only need one coat on the eggs.
Here’s how
Step 1

Use a paintbrush to paint the interior of the papier mâché eggs white. Leave to dry.
Step 2

Apply a coat of heavy body acrylic to outside of eggs using a paintbrush. Hang up to let paint dry.
Step 3

Fill base of painted cracked eggs with shredded tissue paper. Position fuzzy chicks in eggs on tissue paper nests.
Step 4

Add a few mini chocolate eggs to each egg nest, nestled around base of fuzzy chicks.
Step 5
Hang egg and chick nests from branch arrangement.
