Repurposed vegie gardens!

Repurpose vintage kitchenware as planters! It’s all fair game – think sifters, strainers, teacups, kettles, pots and pans... Be sure to drill drainage holes in watertight vessels – use a glass and tile drill bit for porcelain.

Love to pick fresh herbs? Make it fun while you’re at it by recycling containers bound for the scrap heap. Plant them up, set them out in a sunny position, grow a bunch and harvest!

Gather your supplies:

• Old containers

• Hessian or coconut fibre

• Potting mix

• Edible herbs (such as basil, rosemary and ornamental chilli)

Here’s how…

Step 1

Line any open-style containers with hessian bag or coconut fibre.
