1. Start planting

Autumn is the best time of the year for planting new plants. Air temperatures have cooled down, soil is still warm and its generally conducive to plant nurturing. The first step is to check your soil and give it the goodness it needs for growing plants.

2. Lawn care

Summer might have been a little harsh on your beloved lawn and autumn is the best time for it to recuperate. Make sure you use a fertiliser that has less nitrogen than what you tend to use in spring and summer. A fertiliser with the right nutrients will repair damaged areas and promote growth

3. Use leaves as compost

Not a fan of raking those relentless autumn leaves? How about ‘harvesting free compost?’ While leaves shouldn’t be substituted for a quality organic compost like Richgro’s Black Marvel Garden Compost, they can definitely be added to the diet.

4. Bring in the worms

Now’s the time to beef up your compost and fertiliser to attract our lovely little garden helpers: earthworms.
