Just when we thought that hot cross buns couldn’t get any better, along comes a new spin to make us think again.
Woolworths has announced that two new limited edition hot cross bun flavours will be hitting shelves: Banana & Caramel Hot Cross Buns and White Chocolate & Raspberry Hot Cross Buns. You can get your hands on the four packs for $3.50.
According to Woolworths, the Banana & Caramel Hot Cross Buns are made with caramel pieces and Australian bananas “for a creamy, melt-in-your-mouth experience” while the White Chocolate & Raspberry Hot Cross Bun contains white chocolate chunks and raspberries for a hot cross bun with a “sharp, fruity zing”.
Woolworths Head of Bakery, Ben Thompson said: “This year, Woolworths is adding another layer of decadence to your seasonal treats with two new additions to 2019’s hot cross bun lineup.
“The limited-edition flavours of Banana & Caramel and Raspberry & White Choc have the perfect combination of dessert-like sweetness to complement the classic fruit inclusions.
“Our team of bakers had a lot of fun sampling new flavour combinations to come up with these two additions to the Easter range and we are confident they’re going to become a hot favourite with our customers.”
