We love nothing better than a genius food hack, and foodie influencer Jo Whitton, the creator of Quirky Cooking, has shared a genius lemon-juicing hack with her followers online that you need to know about.
Watch: How to juice a lemon without cutting it open
Rather than cutting up a lemon for its juice, only to waste the perfectly-edible flesh within, Jo has a delightfully easy and mess-free method of juicing a lemon.
Firmly roll a lemon between your hands, then on a hard surface – such as a bench top – until the inside of the fruit feels soft.
Take a food skewer and pierce the lemon through the top nodule, pushing it to the middle of the fruit. Then, all you have to do is squeeze and a stream of lemon juice should flow freely from the hole in the top of the lemon. Watch the video above to this beilliant hack in action.
This way you can still use the lemon flesh for different cooking purposes and reduce your food wastage.
