Many people do not enjoy cooking. In fact, many people cook purely to avoid starving to death. However, some genius has dreamt up a way to hack those gorgeously chewy Subway cookies and turn them into a salted caramel tart, and all you need is four ingredients.
- 14 Subway cookies (salted caramel ones, in this case)
- 100g unsalted butter
- 400ml can of coconut cream
- 500g dark baking chocolate
All you have to do is crush the cookies up into a fine crumble using either your hands or a food processor, and ensure the butter is then mixed evenly into the cookie crumbs. Push the crumbs into a springform cake tin – covering both the bottom and sides – then pop in the freezer for 30 minutes to set! That’s your base done!
Pour the coconut cream in a bowl then pop it into the microwave for 2 minutes until it’s boiling. Stir the chocolate into the coconut cream until all melted, then add a pinch of salt. That’s your filling!
Pour the chocolate mixture over the cookie base, leave to set in the fridge for two hours, then garnish with grated chocolate, berries or anything else you like!
Et voila! A fancy salted caramel tart that required zero baking or cooking skills. We suggest adding some raspberries to the chocolate filling for a sweet fruity addition. The best part? The possibilities are endless. You can use this hack for almost any chewy cookies out there, try milk-chocolate for the filling instead of dark, or even add a little something to the mix.
