eBay has analysed the searching and buying behaviour of its 11.8 million monthly unique users to determine the top trending toys for Christmas.
This year, it’s all about fun and we’re seeing the shift away from screens to family-fun and retro inspired toys. And of course – there’s the one sell-out item that everyone will be trying to get their hands on.
1. Fingerlings
Every year there is one toy that flies off the shelves, last year it was the Hatchimal and this year it is the Fingerlings. Searches on eBay for these interactive finger-hugging friends have shot up by 600 per cent in the past three months.
2. LOL Surprise Dolls
We’ve seen unboxing become popular on YouTube and now it’s made its way to toys. LOL Surprise Dolls are hot on eBay’s list, with sales of the modern pass the parcel doubling over the past month.
3. Anniversary Tamagotchi
We’re seeing nostalgic Aussie parents reliving their childhood through retro-inspired toys. This year, the 20th anniversary Tamagotchi has landed and in the past month eBay has seen sales skyrocket by 115 per cent.
4. Feisty Pets
After this video went viral, Feisty Pets have been one of the most searched toys on eBay – jumping 3000 per cent over the past four months.
5. New Hatchimals CollEGGtibles
The hottest gift of 2016, the Hatchimal, is back with two new species. Over the past five months, we’ve seen over 100,000 searches for Hatchimals so if you see one on eBay make sure you snap it up because they are selling fast.
6. Zing Wet Head Game
For the first time last year eBay started to see toys that were moving away from screens and this is a trend that we continue to see. In 2017, it’s back to basics with board games that the whole family can get involved with – Zing Wet Head Game is rated as one of our top picks.
7. Furreal Roarin Tyler, The Playful Tiger
Furreal Friends have been a hit time and time again and the interactive plush toys are still a favourite under the tree, kids are able to talk and play with the king of the animal kingdom, Furreal Roarin Tyler.
8. Little Tikes Princess Horse & Carriage
Every princess needs a horse carriage and Little Tikes Princess Horse & Carriage will see your kids make a grand entrance on Christmas day. Get behind the reigns and snap up the toy that's set to skyrocket in sales over the silly season.

If it was big at the movies it’s big under the Christmas tree and this year Wonder Woman is the hottest franchise. When the movie launched in June eBay saw searches for Wonder Woman Lego products jump 90 per cent and it doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon.
