You can now buy giant rainbow dumplings in Melbourne and Sydney

How good are dumplings? Although these bite-sized parcels usually disappear in a single mouthful, they are delicious and appropriate for all occasions. However, iconic dumpling chain Din Tai Fung has reimagined the humble dumpling into something big, bold and wonderful – and perhaps even better than the original.

To celebrate the light and colour of Vivid 2019 in Sydney, the much-loved dumpling house has announced that it will be making special edition giant rainbow dumplings for the festival.

Celebrate Vivid, starting tomorrow night, with our limited edition Giant Rainbow Dumpling 🌈🌈 The single giant dumpling, seven times larger than Din Tai Fung's regular xiao long bao, is delicious, juicy and seemingly endless - perfect to devour alone or with friends and a sure-fire way to fuel walking the streets of @vividsydney

These giant dumplings are seven times bigger than Din Tai Fung’s usual xiao long bao dumplings and cost a pocket-friendly $9.80. These delicious rainbow-hued treats will be available in all Sydney and Melbourne stores from Friday May 24 to Thursday June 6.

And if you do make the time to go in and order one of these limited edition snacks, you can expect an outer dumpling layer in shades of yellow, pink, purple, blue and green. Inside you’ll find a delicious mix of pork and seafood with a broth.
